Hello! In May 2020 we planted a red oak tree in our yard. This spring, it has developed such a big crown that it is bending over with the weight of its leaves. It does not appear the roots are disturbed or losing hold. The trunk is just bent and it gets worse when it rains and leaves are wet. Trunk is only 1” thick and the whole tree is 7 feet tall.
Should I add some support so the trunk grows up straight? If so, what method is recommended? If not, can I expect my little tree to straighten out on its own?
