I was wondering if you have anyone who could identify this lichen for me. It is on a branch that fell off my oak tree last night. I have an interest in lichens.

Thank you for your reply about the lichen. One of your references kind of lead me to thinking that it is a “jelly fungus”, and not a lichen at all!
I looked that fungus up and I think that is my “creature”. It is actually beneficial to a tree.
