I’m looking to find a master gardener who would be willing to come to my garden and give me advice. My goal is to have enough food growing that it would sustain my family, and eventually, other families. I have established a layout and started growing fruit, vegetables and herbs for the past two years but I have a low yield. I also added a very nice greenhouse and fenced areas. I, of course, would be happy to compensate for time. Please advise and thank you for taking my question.

I found worms in some hay I just purchased for my horses. Are these superworms? if not, what are they and can they hurt my horses if digested?

Hi - We have a few trees in our yard that have attracted lantern flies - and now the females are laying eggs on it. We'd like to get help removing the eggs - do you know of any businesses/people who do this sort of pest removal? Also - I vaguely remember reading somewhere that one way of mitigating lanternflies is having a ring on the trees during the spring that can capture the young as they move down the tree. Is this true?

Should I cut back or trim my Rose of Sharon plant in East Lansing, MI. If yes when is the best time to do this.

We have a large wooded yard. In the past 2 years we have noted --in different areas of a nearly one-acre yard--groups of shrubs or trees that are completely dead after being vigorous for nearly 50 years. Even a large grove of bamboo has mysteriously died. We have never discouraged any bamboo disappearing, but it has been our experience that it is virtually indestructible. We have always maintained a completely organic approach to yard care and we have lived here for more than 35 years. We would like to have the soil tested in the various areas where the damage has occurred. Please advise how we can proceed. Thank-you

I'd like to sow grass seed in areas of my fescue lawn that have died off in the past year. Could you let me know if any grass seed will grow at this time of year? If possible, please be as specific as possible! All the choices at Home Depot are overwhelming!

I have Heritage raspberry plants, 1 year in the ground. I have found two conflicting recommendations for pruning them to get one fall crop. The Extension publication "Growing Raspberries in the Home Garden" recommends cutting them to the ground in late March. The Garden Guide for the Rogue Valley recommends cutting them to the ground after fall harvest or up to February. Which is correct? I live on the edge of the Rogue Valley proper, a few miles from the Extension Center. My last frost is usually sometime between mid-April and mid-May. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Hello I have not started my lawn in several years. It has high clay soil. Is it too late to do so this Fall?
