Guidelines question #890624

Asked December 08, 2024, 8:02 PM EST

I am renting a kitchen with a small office space that is not deemed a commercial kitchen. I want to sell homemade foods that are take away. I believe it falls within the guidelines for the homemade food bill as long as I post an easy to view sign sharing the statute, my name, address, phone number, and possible allergens. Am I correct?

Expert Response

Hi Aundria,

Because the new Homemade Food rules for Alaska have some complexity and nuance (and theyʼre NEW, so weʼre learning how to apply them to different circumstances), Iʼd like to recommend we schedule a phone call to discuss your products, kitchen, plans, etc.

My phone number is<personal data hidden>. If you need to leave a message, please let me know a good day/time to call you back.

I look forward to talking with you.

Sarah
