Hi, I am part of a community garden and our water system consists of a deep bedrock well connected to irrigation pipe used to fill 1000 gallon tanks that in turn supply spigots across the garden. We have been having issues over the past few years with what we think is early and late tomato blight and downy mildew. Someone in the garden asked if this could be related to the irrigation system. The tanks get a lot of algal growth, but I have assumed that is mostly nuisance and not harmful to the gardens. Could the tanks contribute to the garden blight and mildew? Also any tips on limiting algal growth in the tanks? - thanks

Any reason this evergreen might be dying? The evergreens around it are perfectly fine. Started browning two months ago. Maybe extreme heat in July?? Possible pathogen?

My arborvitae’s have little gold, looking seeds on the ends, also turning brown. Part of it may be overwatering, but what are the seeds all over it?

The tree in my front yard as well as many of my neighbors trees have started swarming with bees/wasps. The trees leaves are turning black, and some of the more severe cases have bark turning black. There are also lots of white spots showing up on the trees. We are all looking for a solution.

I received a visit from a pest company. The rep showed me what he believed was frass from eastern subterranean termites in the bark placed around my house. He also showed a very small creature that he said was a termite larvae. Finally, there was a 4x4 post on my wood pile that appeared to have the runs or markings of termite damage. (I am not sure the origin of that post.) I am wondering if there's an expert who would be willing to do a consult and tell me if what the pest company rep says is likely true. Basically I am looking for a recommendation by a person with no stake in the outcome. I am willing to pay a fee for this recommendation.

Hi: I have three dwarf Chinkapin oaks, Quercus prinoides, planted in a triangular formation about 20-25 feet apart from each other. Two of them appear to be doing fine. But the one has leaves with blotches, brown dots, and a yellowish color on its leaves. The other two trees appear to be quite fine. Is there something that should be done about my tree and is it something I can do or do I need to hire a professional like Bartlette Tree Experts to treat it? As always, many thanks! Jim Clark

I continue to have problems with my lungwort plants (see submission 0119324 or 0119325 from 2023). As you said, the plants did "come back" this year and initially looked good. But, except for one plant (and even it has issues) the leaves keep dropping off. I will have a nice-looking small plant, and then over 1-2 days the leaves become detatched. I have used "Liquid Fence Deer and Rabbit Repellent" extensively. Sometimes it seems to allow leaf growth, other times it does not. (You thought it was rabbits nibbling at the plants.) I have also used slug bait, is there any chance slugs are inside the ring of bait? The leaves just seem to fall off at the base. I will attach some pictures of the plants as well as leaves that recently d3etached. THANK YOU!

Hello, i have one acorn squash and one delicata squash plant. The acorn has been growing well and has multiple fruits. The delicata is slow to grow, but has one squash growing. Both are starting to brown and wilt starting at the root end. This is really obvious for acorn squash plant. Is this just normal for the plant as it ages? We have a drip irrigation system, but maybe we don't have enough water? We saw something similar with our cucumbers until they died, though, and now our muskmelons, too, are starting to brown and wilt at the root end. We are growing in raised beds with new soil that was advertised as good for raised beds. We supplement with compost that we produce at home. Thanks for the advice.
