South Mple resident.Purple lilac appeard as dead. Fungal disease? Very sudden & rapid. Wait till spring, head down or completely remove it? Also waste disposal concerns as may contaminate & spread. Thank-you Also Asters presented with funal death this year?

It's best to send diseased lilac waste to a yard waste site or away with the trash.
If the lilac in question is old and overgrown, consider renewing it by cutting it to the ground in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.
