Hello, I purchased two elberta peach trees last summer(2024) the trees looked good and healthy.. I'm reading about what i should be spraying the trees with as a precaution maintenance program. The trees are about 9' tall and I will plan on giving them their first pruning this spring. I live in south eastern Michigan, Monroe County. Thank you for any help. James Farley

Black needles on Arborvitae #889816

I noticed today on the north side of my Arborvitae some of the needles are turning Black. Not brown as most of the info that I can find addresses. It is not taking over the whole tree but want to stop it if I can as it is a beautiful one 5 years old and almost up to the shed roof. Any advice you can give would be very much welcomed.

I have found 10-15 of these bugs in my bed and bathroom over the last few months. They are dark brown or black and smaller than a grain of rice. I am trying to find out what they are so I know how to get rid of them.

I just cut my geraniums down to stubs prior to letting them dry out and then store them in a box. Since I cut everything off will that jeopardise their growth next spring?

Dormant Seeding Timing and Watering Advice #889807

I have a quick question about dormant seeding. Should I wait until next month to apply the seeds for optimal results, and is it necessary to water the area after seeding? I can time it on a day I know it's going to rain. I checked soil temp and it's currently 37F, with a 5-day average of 50F. I understand that spring seeding is generally preferred, but I’m interested in trying dormant seeding this year. Thank you very much for your help!

I have a Japanese Maple in the home I just moved into and it has just dropped its beautiful bright orange red leaves. I do not know the species but is about 6 feet high and 5 feet wide. I like to know how to prune this this tree to keep it small in my small front yard
