Hello, I am new to the Duluth area and want to start a garden as soon as possible. My gardening skills are more adapted to dealing with a short growing period and very regular rainfall. I am wanting to know, as a new member of the region, what lessons I will likely learn through failure. I can easily imagine that the frost and cold is a challenge, but what about the heat and humidity? It may be a vague question, but what are the easily overlooked challenges faced by Duluth area (Zone 4B) gardeners?

Good morning. I have 150 acres with 13 land divisions I would like to divide off 20 acres that has 1320 ft of road frontage. I would like to assign 6 divisions to the 20 acres from the main parent tract of 13 divisions. The 6 divisions will meet the township requirements for acreage and width to depth ratio. The question is can I assign any number of divisions to the 20 acres as long as they meet the township requirements for tks very much.

Hi, I heard this the other evening after dark, in my backyard. I couldn't see the animal, even though in playing back the recording, the animal got closer (louder). However, I still couldn't see it. I don't have a strong flashlight. When I went to turn on the flood lights, I heard it no more (didn't get a chance to see it). I heard it again a few days later, around the same time. I am located in Kent, Co. on the eastern shore. I see now, that you don't make provision for uploading of sound files. blueberry farms and the forest #890719

Is there any way I can stop a blueberry farm from destroying the forest on the property next to me? Last year they destroyed 35-40 acres of forest for blueberries. They purchased the 30 acres that abutt my property, I have 10 acres that I have lived on for 25 years. Between myself and my father we have paid taxes in Fruitland Township for at least 75 years. This is forested land with a house that they plan on leaving. This property is in Rural Residential and is NOT in the agricultural overlay. I am very concerned about my water quality as well as the environment surrounding me. There are already many blueberry farms in the area. We do not need any more!
