blueberry farms and the forest #890719
Asked December 11, 2024, 4:17 PM EST
Is there any way I can stop a blueberry farm from destroying the forest on the property next to me? Last year they destroyed 35-40 acres of forest for blueberries. They purchased the 30 acres that abutt my property, I have 10 acres that I have lived on for 25 years. Between myself and my father we have paid taxes in Fruitland Township for at least 75 years. This is forested land with a house that they plan on leaving. This property is in Rural Residential and is NOT in the agricultural overlay. I am very concerned about my water quality as well as the environment surrounding me. There are already many blueberry farms in the area. We do not need any more!

- This resource is intended to help the average resident understand and respond to a local government public hearing notice for a proposed special use permit. It briefly outlines how to be most effective when submitting written comments or making public comment for or against a proposed special use permit.
