Hello! My daughter has heard about a 4H camp focused on horseback riding but I do not see that mentioned in any of the camp descriptions. She will be in 5th grade in Sept. can you please let me know which camp this might be?

Please help identify this flowering shrub. It has grown to about 5 foot tall. Four pictures are attached. 

We’ll be removing a maple tree in our yard that is diseased. We want to replace it with a serviceberry tree so that we can attract more birds in our yard. After removing the maple, should we wait any amount of time before planting the serviceberry tree, or can we replace it the same season as the tree removal? When is the best time to plant serviceberry? Thank you.

Hello! I am brand new to gardening after living in apartment for 5 years. I am beyond excited to get started, but was hoping to get some advice on beginner friendly vegetables to grow and proper companion planting. The amount of information online is overwhelming and not specific to my region. I'd like to grow the veggies I use the most in my kitchen- tomatoes, kale, onions, carrot, bell peppers- but I am willing to brach out in my recipes to accommodate what's in season and easiest to grow. I bought some daffodil and tulip bulbs several months ago and never got them planted. They have been inside my garage in Oregon City. At this point, what should I do...I'm noticing in my neighborhood that bulbs are 4-6 inches tall already.

Hello! I'm going to plant several fruit trees in the Spring. I've done my work choosing varieties that are suitable for my area. I live in the country and have a lot of tunneling critters who like to eat the roots of plants. What steps should I take to keep these critters away from my fruit tree roots? Maybe the trees are planted too deep that the roots aren't accessible? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You Pam Monteiro

I am co-planning a class for high school students focused on pollinator gardens. We've started one at our school and will be working on signage and other projects for further developing our garden during our course. We'd like to take the students on a field trip to a well-established pollinator garden in Oregon so that the can see the role these can play in the community and environment. What recommendations do you have for great pollinator gardens in Oregon? We are open to a range of travel distances so please tell us which ones you think are best regardless of our school's location. Thank you!

I start my seeds under a small light then move them under a Black Dog 400 led light. I started them in fox farm happy frog, and probably roots 707 soil. The seedlings look good until they get about 8 inches tall, then the leaves start to curl up and in and slowly start dying. I've had this happen to practically all of my tomato starts. I thought it would be nitrogen or some other kind of toxicity so I haven't fed this last plant any food and the same thing seems to be happening. Please help! Sorry I tried to upload pics but it isn't letting me. :l

Do you, or do you know of resources available, whereby I could provide a sample of the insect for proper identification?

Hello! I ordered some hardwood grape vine cuttings online that I would like to root and eventually plant out at my home. After looking for information online, I've gathered that dipping in a rooting hormone and sticking into a pot of dirt should get it started. Here are my questions: Do you know if a heat mat is needed, and how long if so? As I'm starting this process inside, should I put the cutting(s) under a grow light? Or, should I keep it away from light like you would a potato for escape as it begins growing? Thank you very much in advance!
