I have a 400-pound steer that needs to be between 400 and 800 pounds in May and weigh around 1100 pounds next October. So, I need it to gain about two pounds a day. How should I increase his feed intake to reach the desired weight?

Last Oct. 2012 we planted 3 12 foot Black Hills Spruce that were B&B. we watered them well, they are in direct partial sun. This August two of the BH Spruce developed brown needles and dead branches. I also, mulched with wood chips after planting them. I bought the trees from a near by tree farm in Stillwater. I will attempt to send pics. Thanks, Fred Storti<personal data hidden>

In March of 2012 I planted five 6' tall Nellie Steven hollies in a row. They are doing very well, however, last winter I believe birds got all the nice red berries. New berries came in this past spring, but they are still not red. Is it likely they will turn red later this fall/winter? How can I prevent losing the red berries in the future? Put some of the row cover netting over the bushes?

I have two Lilac bushes in my yard, at lese I think they are both Lilac one of them has never bloomed the 2nd does bloom but nothing special. My question is, a month or so after the leaves come out they get a white milky film over the leaves. I also have an Azalea bush that also gets that milky film on the leaves which occurs after it blooms. Can you tell me what the film is and how to eliminate the problem? We cannot walk through the yard or work in the yard without being swarmed by the gnats. We have our yard sprayed for insects which does nothing for the gnats. If I have to work in the yard I have to spray myself with insect repellent. Any ideas on eliminating the Gnat problem? Thank you for any information you can give me.

Hi I have forwarded pictures to Mary Kay Malinoski and attached one here. Have a major problem on west side of four mature white pine. 95% of visible bud growth on west side for this year looks like the picture submitted (Typical). There is a minor problem on the east side (5%). do not know if this is insect or other damage. Only one of several cut open did contain a single larvae. One, pictures sent, had a spent cocoon attached to it. The rest that I have cut open look like the "interior" picture sent to Mary Kay. Impression is that once the 2012 needles drop the west side of the trees will be completely bare. See "Possible 2012 Damage". Assume this will eventually kill the trees? Wes Earp
