What is the best way to remove/kill vinca minor/periwinkle? This Vinca Minor is also interspersed with tiger lilies! Thank you!

I have bought potting soil from a reputable greenhouse for the last two years. I get fungus gnats when I use the soil. Or at least they think they’re fungus gnats. I’m not sure if there’s another place to get soil without eggs and larvae in them. Is there something I can do to the soil before I use it so I don’t get gnats? If after I pot the plant later I get gnats what do I do?

Hello, I have been buying horse hay for many years in northern Michigan. This year I keep getting hay that has white dust in many of the bales. I assume it is a yeast problem. Can I get this hay tested and is the yeast harmful? In the really bad bales the horses won’t eat it. Looking to understand if I should insist on the far,er replacing this hay. Thank you!

I live in California and new to gardening. I have an outdoor gardenia plant. It was healthy until about a week ago. All of a sudden the leaves started turning brown and now it has spread to most of the plant. I went to the store and I was asked to get neem oil and spray which I have done. I also removed most of the dried leaves. I don't want this plant to die. Any help in reviving the plant is very welcome. I am in a 9b zone, if that helps. Lately we have had heavy rains and also some very cold mornings.

It is Feb. 7. I just received a dormant Spicebush. Can I plant it outside now? The ground has not yet frozen here in Gambier OH, but that seems risky. If I keep it indoors until warm weather should I plant it in a pot and keep moist until time to plant in the spring?

There is one initial photo under OSU Extension Service which shows a samurai wasp that has black with yellow stripes...not at all the accurate description (and subsequent photos) of the tiny, all-black shiny samurai wasp with black/yellow-brown legs and antennae. Isn't this striped wasp an incorrect photo and, if so, you might want to remove it. Thank you.

Hello, I work at Oregon Coast Bank and our Toledo branch is in a flood plain. When we built it, we built the building up high enough to get it above the plain and we built a deck for the parking lot so it would also be out of the flood plain. We are now looking to remove the deck (it’s expensive to maintain) and we want to bring in fill and bring the parking lot up so it’s level with the building. The City of Toledo is telling me I need to find someone to provide findings that the flood plain development will not result in any “take” to confirm a ITP permit is not required. I am attaching an excerpt from the code for reference. Do you know any people in the listed professions who do this type of work or could do it?
