I planted peony roots in fall of 2021. They sprouted a month ago and are now six inches tall. I live in Zone 6,Parma Ohio. Can you give me some general care advice and tell me can I reasonably expect a bloom sometime later this season? Thank you

I planted some pink lady apple seeds about 4 years ago. The tree is about 10 feet tall now and seems pretty healthy. I have heard that apple trees grown from seed don't produce fruit well. Can you provide any information on whether or when I might expect fruit? Thank you.

Hi! I am having a large combined bed excavated and will bring in some new soil and I would like some recommendations for mix ins — beds will be mixed w perennial flowers / shrubs. For example how can I add organic matter without adding more phosphorus? When I dug up my soil for the test I saw a lot of clay in multiple areas. That wasn’t mentioned in the test results as far as I can tell? Thanks!

I have plants around the building at my office in a rock garden between the building and the sidewalk. The Sidewalk salt seems to have killed the current plants. I am looking for a suitable shrub. Bachmans referred me to you for more information. I am looking at the Baby Kim Lilac. I was told this is a salt tolerant shrub. My concern is if this is true. Is there anything I should add to the soil when planting and or is there something to help these plants succeed? The area gets over spray from the salt spreader, but also often has snow shoveled into the area or with a snow blower. I've attached photos of the areas and current plants. I am open to recommendations, but really want something below 42". We also have spireahs mixed into the garden.

Hi there, apologies if this is totally the wrong forum for this question. If so, please disregard and thank you for your incredibly informative website. I live in central Denver just South of downtown. Pretty dense neighborhood with few large trees. I noticed a few Siberian Elm saplings and am considering letting one of them establish. My understanding is that they are non-native and invasive but I also wonder if anything that can grow without being watered and provides shade is a win in an urban area. Thoughts?

My serviceberry is dying from the top down. I did spray the top down. I did spray it with an anti fungal due to powdery mildew. Soil ph is 7, fairly moist clay/loam. Sun is partly sunny to shade. Location is Plymouth, MN.
