Can you tell me how long home-canned jams and jellies are safe to eat? I found some jams in the back of pantry shelf that I made in 2020. The color looks good, and the lids are intact (no bulging). Is it still OK to use them? Thank you, Julia Gies

Mature linden tree is dropping a reddish sawdust. On the main trunk, from the cracks in the bark where it is expanding. Is this a normal phase of its growth?

Hi there, We purchased this corn plant several years ago before moving to Grand Junction. Since we moved here, it has seemed to struggle. One of the trunks has completely died. A second trunk is dying and the leaves are yellowing significantly. A new sprout is also coming up. We do not have it in direct sunlight, but it does receive good sun from south facing windows. We try to do a good job of allowing it to dry out before watering again. We have never given it any fertilizer nor have we ever re-potted it. Do you have any advice for us to try to save it? Also, do you think it’s possible for us to pull up the new growth and replant it in a separate pot? Thanks so much! Jim Ramey

I want to plant a stanley plum tree at 7500 ft elevation southern exposure in full sun. We usually still have snowfall in April and frost in May. I suppose the tree would start blooming somewhen in late April. If I dont loose the bloom to frost would that still leave enough time for the plum to ripen? Thanks.

Hi, I struggle with figuring out how to prune my raspberries. I can never connect my actual berries with those drawings of plants with lines showing where to cut. I think what I need is to see what my plants are actually supposed to look like in various seasons. So I'm hoping that you could send me actual photos of healthy patches in winter, spring, summer and fall. As they should look in Portland, Oregon.
