browning needles on lodgepole pine #481126

We have a 9' tall lodgepole pine that was planted about two months ago and I've noticed recently that needles on the interior of the tree are browning and dropping. The dying needles have dark stripes on them. I looked into a few possibilities but was hoping to get an expert opinion. Most of the tips of the branches seem to be green and healthy, which could indicate normal dropping of older needles, but the stripes gave me concern. I was initially watering it once/week with a 14 gallon "donut bag" that has two emitters. Then it was recommended to water it by hand with a hose, which makes it harder to gauge how much water it is actually getting. Can you recommend a specific watering plan for this tree, in case the cause it over or under-watering?

Golden Delicious Apple Tree dry branches #478276

My 35 year old golden delicious apple tree has increasingly more dry branches and twigs. Some large branches have the top half section of the bark now is missing. I cut off several dry branches  last March and pruned every year. This fall I will have a good crop of apples again on the otherwise healthy appearing branches and twigs.  Do you have a diagnosis for this problem and steps I can take?

Hi! I seeded Fall 2016 with a no mow mix (https://www.prairienursery.com/store/no-mow-lawn/no-mow-lawn-seed-mix#.Wxq1snovxjU) and this year have noticed two problems. One is that there is one area that has clover and other grasses/weeds mixed in. The other is that there's another section that has some patchy areas. What do you recommend for these issues? Two adjacent neighbors. Will call them A and B.
Neighbor A exhibited likeness to picture last season, amended the soil and re-seeded this year where spots of distressed grass are coming back.        
Neighbor B (pictured) is now exhibiting same issue except much more severe.
Are animals causing this? Is it fertilizer application issue? What is visual telling? Appreciate your insight and for courtesies extended.

Are any kind of berry bushes susceptible to fireblight?? #441889

I have lost 3 apple trees, peach trees, nectarine trees & some other fruit trees to fireblight. There is an apple tree next door that is totally infected with fireblight & I am afraid the leaves & bugs brought it to us.  I do have 6 blue berry bushes that seem to be doing ok. I have given up on fruit trees but would like to grow more & different kinds of berries if I don't have to worry about the fireblight.  Any & all suggestions for berry bushes would be appreciated.

I have one acre I want to reseed it was used for horses and only weeds exist, it has not been irrigated .I am irrigating and improving soil,I want it to be low water and lower grow. the yard next it is Kentucky and fescue.Lakewood by foothills.No grazing only dogs.

Setting up Community Garden in Charles County #434859

I am interested in setting up a community garden. There are 5 acres available off Bensville Rd. I'm thinking about combining a dog walking course around the outside, near the trees with the garden plots in the middle fenced to keep the deer out of it. I believe there is a well on the property that would have to improved. or I could use rain barrels and pump to a cistern. I calculated I could get 52,000 gallons a year from my house. Depending on the level of interest, I might rent part of the acreage for a horse pasture. I am interested in sustainable use of the land. Here are my questions 1) I don't see any community gardens listed on your website. Is this because there is no interest, or just none available? 2) I know the county runs dog parks, but is there a way I could charge for people to walk their dogs? 3) I searched for pasture rental for Charles co. I couldn't find any for single horses or for small acreage. Where could I find information on rates, and marketing.

hello! I'm curious if someone has updated cherry prices for 2016 and 2017. I've found the Wasco County Sweet Cherry Production Results VERY helpful and would like to have the latest and greatest information. is that something you have? will it be produced at some point or is this information all we'll be getting for the foreseable future?
