I've had this blue spruce for about 20 years, and just recently I noticed that it is stressed... is it just the lack of rain? or is there some disease? or something else? anything I can do about it? thank you..

I am looking to get in touch with someone about finding a source of true potato seed in Alaska. I have grown potatoes from tubers for many years, and I am now becoming interested in potato genetics, and trying to find new varieties that are hardy and disease resistant in our climate. Does UAF produce seed from the potato berries, or do you know of anyone in the state who does? Thanks!

I recently visited Ferry Trail around Pease. I love the trail, the surrounding areas and your pollination garden. Just curious, is the Great Bay Wildlife Refuge always closed to the public? Also, I was reading your posted sign about what all you do and I was intrigued the how pollination works over the seasons. But what really got my attention were the pictures of the cool insects; the Monarch, the Great Black Digger Wasp, Wrinkled Soldier Beetle and Transverse Banded Flower, the latter three I just discovered over the summer. I am a freelance photographer who specializes in nature pictures and I’ve taken shots of said bugs, if you like my pictures better, you can use them in your display sign. Let me know, thanks.

This woody plant showed up in my garden and I have not been able to identify it. It is young and only 2 ft tall. The leaves look clearly like oak species but it carries strange little burs that look like dried flowerheads. I have a tendency to scatter outdated seed packets randomly so it could be anything.

We are traveling next summer and are not planting a garden however the weeds will run rampid. Can we apply preen or another similar product to the garden and not have it effect the growing in 2026? Thanks
