    I live in southern Maryland in Hughesville and my soil is rock hard. Mostly clay I believe. I have an 1.5 acres and it's almost all crab grass. I'm considering putting down red clover to break up the soil and provide nitrogen. Can I just spread it with a broadcast seeder? I don't want to do a lot of work but want it to take. Also I have a leech field for a septic system. Will the red clover affect it? Thanks, Chris

    I would like to transplant a very large old blueberry bush.could be 30 years old or more I don't know exact age .it is in a landscape strip up against the house and I want to move it out in the open away from the house.     Hi, I have a recipe that my mother-in-laws uses for tomato soup. It calls for flour and margarine. I have heard you cannot use flour in canning recipes. I have included pictures of the recipe. Is this safe to can?

    I have three round small Boxwood plants that were planted a couple of years ago and this is the first time they have leaves and branches that are yellow. Is this root rot and if so, is it due to excessive rain? Is there anything I can do to help the bushes? Thank you!

    We have a wind break of Black Hills spruce planted three years ago. They are at least 6 feet tall and doing well. Do they need to be watered this fall because of the lack of rain until some came (1 inch) yesterday? Or are they established enough to not worry about them?

    We have two crab apple trees with 2-3 inch trunks that were planted three years ago. The deer have rubbed the bark off all around on one tree for 18 inches and one one side of the other for at least 12 inches very recently. I covered the wounds with pruning tar. Is there any hope that trees will survive or should they just be replaced next spring? There are two more not damaged, do they need to be watered this fall since the dry weather?
