I did not use or clean out my raised beds last year and pokeweed moved in along with other less concerning weeds. I just cleaned out the box and dug up 2 giant roots and pulled the starts. There are still chives and strawberries that came back and I was planning to plant herbs in the box this year. Should I be concerned about any residual pokeweed as I understand it is toxic.

My mom brought home this plant and it’s got this very interesting yellow dots on the leaves. Should I kill the plant? It’s a pretty big plant I don’t want to spread to the rest of my garden right now it’s on the deck. #829800

Anyone know what this diseases or what? This is on my tomato plant? I’m afraid it’s gonna affect the rest of my garden. Currently it’s on the deck. My mom brought home this tomato plant.

Hi, we have a Weigela that is at least 25 years old. It was a mature plant when we moved in 25 years ago. This year it has green leaves only on the lower half of the limbs. Those at the top have not leafed out. Will they leaf out later this spring or what care does it need? It has not bloomed yet. I have never pruned it..

This is not an outdoor gardening question, but I thought you may have some advice. I was reluctant to re-pot this houseplant because my daughter gave it to me in this pot as a gift on her wedding, 2 and a half years ago. It is now quite leggy. Should I replant in a bigger pot? If/when I do that, should I sink it deeper in the soil? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello MSU! This plant was donated to the Library 4years ago. This year there is some yellowing of the leaves, mild stickiness near the center vein, and some brown blotches that look like scale on the veins under the leaf. There are other plants in the room, none closer than 6 feet.

I bought a stick of bamboo in water that has tiny roots and a few tiny leaves at top. If I cut off about 1 inch from the bottom, will roots start to grow again if I keep it in water? The internet said something about dipping very bottom in wax. Is that necessary?

Ideas for Native Plants & NO Grass: Back yard - Columbia, MD #818423

We recently moved to Columbia and purchased a home in Stevens Forest. We are interested in improving our yard by using native, bird friendly plants to cover bare ground. In the backyard as you can see by the 3 attached photos our yard backs onto Columbia Open Space. All of these areas face south. We've been cleaning up the tangle of vines and dead branches that were piled up and are interested in planting ground cover over the bare dirt areas (see photos: Back yard by compost & Back yard common area). In addition, we have a bare area in the middle of the back yard where there used to be a swing set (see photo: Area where swing set was). We do NOT want to plant more grass. We've seen many deer in our backyard so we realize we need to select plants that are as deer resistant as possible. We appreciate your expert advice and any resources or ideas you can provide.

I have a healthy rhododendron that really took off after tree removal gave it more light. It is a bit overgrown, and some branches are 6-8 feet long before leaves and flowers. How do you suggest I prune this?
