Hello and thank you for your advice,
Twenty two years ago I inherited 13 Leyland Cypress trees when I moved into our home. They grew to maturity but required lifting the bottoms to remove dead branches and leaves. Now we are "on top" of our neighbors and I need to plant native shrubs in between these trees for privacy. The area gets some sun, mostly shade, clay soil that has been mulched for 20 years. This is on the north side of house. Prefer evergreen, attractive to birds and pollinators. We routinely prune so height can be up to 15 feet high but not more than 5 -6 feet wide. I just want to hide the neighbors heads from next door to give them and us privacy when they are in their yards. Oh, and it would be nice if these shrubs didn't 'break the bank"
Thank you for recommendations.
