    My 2 cherry trees are infected with something and I’m afraid it may spread to my apricot tree. Aphids were terrible even with spray. One cherry tree had leaves that grew very thick together on one branch and did not bear fruit, one did have several cherries this year. They are about 2 years old. What should I be doing?     This plant began growing a few years ago in the area where my Annabelle hydrangeas are located. I assume it began from a seed transplanted by wind or animal or insect. I've cut branches back a couple times but it continues to grow vigorously. I have not noticed any flowers or berries and do not recall leaf color change. What is this plant?

    Hi Miri I’ve sent numerous pics to UM and asked questions about the carpet beetles in my home! I appreciate your great service! I found approx 5 carpet beetles on the bedroom carpet and 2 in another bedroom on the carpet. Could you please advise what is the best type of pesticide to rid our home of these pests? Also, does the pesticide get rid of the beetle altogether or can they return within 30 days? Thank you! Jackie McGreal

    Hi there, I have a pear tree that has produced “normal” pears for multiple years, that this year has produced a very strange crop. The pears are immensely aromatic, they are enormous, many have split, and they are all very hard. The pears do not ripen off the tree, but rather just brown and go bad. They are very mealy in texture and are not sweet. I’d love to know your thoughts on this! Thank you!

    I was made aware of ash tree disease because of a recent TV news show, and the fact that it also affects other trees besides. I have been noticing that many of my ornamental trees are affected with the symptoms of this, as are many other trees around town. is there a cure? should I sound an alarm at City Hall?

    Do you provide soil testing? Or can you provide a recommendation for soil testing units? I have 2 community garden boxes and this year one of the boxes was woefully unproductive. I suspect that the soil is not up to snuff but don't know what kind of amenities to add for next year. Thank you.
