Hello, thank you for your time. In the fall of 2016, I spent an extensive amount of time collecting seeds from plants that I had new that year purchased predominately from Bachman's, or Wagners, or a few could be from home depot. I learned from the u of m ext site how to collect tomato seeds for replanting, bell peppers, hot peppers, climbers like unique colors of morning glory (scarlet o'hera) and one called "cardinal climber" which was obviously the Baily's nursery or the bachmans or wagner's , also verbeena sp?. What i did was looked at every vartiety and looked how to dry out- like the complicated de-slime of the tomatos .... i thought i remembered that this would only last in the freezer for a max of three years so i took them out 2 weeks ago to try and just get plants out of them. i suffer from severe depression which can hinder my "get up and go" and don't want to waste these seeds. i am reading now that 41 degrees F is best, and they were in probably 28-30 degree freezer, each seed type in a mini ziploc plastic 1/2 cup lided container with fda approved dessicant packets all in one giant 32 gallon ziploc bag. Do you think any would survivie or do you think this would be a waste of my time? I would like to try and bloom them and if you think it would be an okay project to not fail at (i have an 18 year old garden ruined by apathy and a residing job in summer 2021). I could provide a list if you think any variety would be worth my time, even if i barely get fruit, i would be willing to plant in containers to bring in in the fall to get new seeds.... what is your opinion.... or should i chalk up the hypomania of fall 2016 to another "oh well" in life of all the seeds collected? there were some of the tastiest tomatoes and peppers ever that summer, which also could chalk up to the mania as well- who knows. Kind regards,
