Tree Roots at Surface #889243

We had this Serviceberry tree planted last fall and there was a watering bag around the tree. When I removed the bag for winter, I noticed these roots. I assume the roots grew up towards the water (the tree probably needed deeper watering). Should I cover these roots with dirt or mulch before the winter? Anything else I should do?

Dear expert, I was planning to cut back my itoh peony this weekend and found several buds on the stems. Please see circled on the picture. Should I cut it above the bud which could be up to 8 inches above the ground? Thank you! Betty

Can you give me any suggestions for over-wintering this potted banana tree on my deck? It's supposed to survive cold temperatures although I understand it does back. Should I cover it and/or wrap the pot or do anything else? I have a greenhouse and can move it there if need be. Thank you in advance!

Hello, We need to put down Bermuda grass seed next year, probably mid May. We are trying to grow our lawn from seed to avoid high costs and don't mind waiting a few years for it to get established. But crabgrass prevailed this year and we would like to prevent it from coming back next year. I know about pre-emergent, but I'm afraid it will interfere with the Bermuda grass seed. When would be the best time to put down the pre-emergent and still have the Bermuda grow when we put it down in May?
