I'm relieved to find your society. I could certainly use your help. Thank you for providing this important service to the residents of Ohio! I attempted some research, but this topic is much too far out of my area of expertise. We could really use your help identifying these creatures, and learning how to get rid of them. Thank you!
Obviously, the first photo is of a spider, which we found in my son's room under his sheets. It is sitting on the mattress cover in the picture. Can you kindly identify it for us, and tell us how to get rid of them in the house?
The second photo is of an organic critter unfamiliar to us. (I'm not even sure what to call it.) We have spotted a couple of them in my son's bathroom. This one was in the sink. Perhaps this is in an egg containing a larvae, but I have no idea. It appears to have tentacles, but I didn't know that was possible. Surprisingly, it did not wash away with hot water, and it did not budge when sprayed with Clorox cleaner with bleach. It also did not budge when drenched with hydrogen peroxide. I then tried squirting it with alcohol, to no avail. That is unusual, so we are concerned.
We do not know if they are dangerous, and will be grateful for any information you can provide.
Thank you so much!
