Hello, Are there any precautions to take when applying anti-desiccant (Wilt Stop) to Boxwood shrubs? I have heard that it could cause plant cells to burst if they freeze too quickly before moisture is taken up in the root system before extreme cold sets in. What might be the best time/temperature to apply the Wilt Stop to boxwood shrubs?

I've come home from a three-week vacation to find the bark being scraped on my cedar tree. Any ideas what's happening?

Am I to late to plant onion sets? Purchased at Walmart in spring. Yellow, white , and red multi pack. Don't have any idea if short, med, or long season. They grew very little this season so I pulled them all and am considering replanting now if not to late. Zone 7a-7b Ballenger Creek

My horses are suffering from slobbers. I only know this is most common from clover during damp months. But it’s been really dry and they’re still drooling from slaframine or black patch. I understand I can request an ag agent to come to my pasture to help me come up with a plan.

We're having our front lawn removed and changing our irrigation system to a drip-type in the spring. The contractor wants to use geo textile fabric over the area when the lawn used to be (after the sod is removed) and add 3"-4" of bark. We plan to plant natives and other pollinator plants and shrubs in this space. I understand the need for this under a gravel path we're installing but question whether this is the right approach for the planted area. I'm most concerned about the health of the soil using this approach. I also understand that weed seeds can and do sprout in the bark mulch. Do you have any references for me? Thank you.

A commercial company has mulched all the plants, from grasses to trees, at my senior living complex with 1 inch of compost and 3 inches of hickory mulch. The mulch is up against and in the bottom-most branches. I have attached photos. What is the science-based response to this-- should the mulch be removed, and how many inches out? If so, please explain the science behind this removal so that I can use this information to speak with the person in charge of landscape maintenance. There's a cluster of mushrooms growing out of a tree stump in my recently finished dog run. The tree was felled about 3 years ago, and in that time nothing grow out of or near the stump except a tree of heaven, blackberry vines, and numerous poke bushes.

This summer, I cleared the space, put down landscape fabric, dumped about 4 yards of cedar chips, and turned it into a dog run.

Now those things are growing up out of the stump.

Long story short: Are they poisonous or toxic to dogs? I tried searching online, and while the results looked similar, every result came back with a different name.
