Do you have guidance on the selection of a herbicide for the elimination of Lesser Celandine?

There are black coal looking growths on the tree. There are also green things growing everywhere except on one branch. I’ll include pictures. The black can be seen on the back branch. Wondering if I should be worried?

I believe my yard compost bin is full of Asian jumping worms. What should I do? How do I discard the contents?

I submitted a soil sample for testing due to interveinal chlorosis on a red maple. The soil test reported P @ 21 PPM, K @ 108 ppm, and Mg @ 220 ppm. It recommends adding sulfur. Will this help correct the interveinal chlorosis by allowing the Mg in the soil to become available for the Maple to take up?

Is there still time to do fall fertilizing? I’m thinking of trees, shrubs, rhododendrons, hydrangeas, etc.

I've long heard that is is detrimental to attept to dislodge wet or frozen snow from the branches of Ponderosa Pine, Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir, etc. to alleviate/prevent broken limbs, but is this ALWAYS the case? I have mature specimens of all three on my property, and the current (early November 2024) snowstorm consists of mainly lower water content snow that doesn't cling tightly. Can some poking with a long pole be helpful to burdened branches?

Hello. Hopefully I have correctly identified these trees as spruce. They were planted near a dirt road, approx 7 yrs ago, that does not get salt treatment in winter. I suspect they don't get enough sun. On the south side of the road is a heavily populated state land with large/tall trees and brush. Very little if any mowing/trimming was done around the trees this year but this disease/infestation has been present for many years. Also, I suspect the trees were sitting awhile before they were delivered in burlap and planted on a very hot day in July. We have not performed a soil test but intend to do so soon. Di we cut off dead branches? Should we fertilize? Do we need insecticide? We really want to save these trees. I have many more photos but was only able to attach 3.

2 of my many mature blue spruces have very recently developed needles turning brown on some of the short mid height branches. They are not yet falling off with touch. They actually seem firmly connected.
the trees are 20 years old and these 2 are about 20 ft apart. They are in a mulched area. Branches are not touching. There is a mature honey locust within 20’ also. This area of my lot is not exposed to wind or intense sun.
I am in a subdivision next to the first foothill.
I have about 20 blue spruces on my lot and they have all thrived. One time I had some needle rust on low branches of a different tree. I recall maybe treating it with a spray. It recovered well.

please advise.
shall I just remove the branches or should I spray with something?

Hi, We live in Cleveland and our large oak tree has some dead branches falling off but overall is okay so we would like it trimmed. I know it is supposed to be trimmed when "dormant" but with the unseasonably warm weather am afraid if getting it trimmed this November is too early. Do I need to wait at least until the first frost or a certain temperature to be safer? Thank you!

I want to plant a Sky High Juniper because of it's blue color and growth/structure. Am I better off to plant now (mid November) or wait until early spring? I recently heard that some evergreens are best planted after the first frost.
