Late this spring we moved into a house and within a few weeks noticed that an American holly in the backyard was looking very scraggly, and had some kind of webbing heavily on it. We didn't have the bandwidth at the time to figure out what the problem was (and I'm hoping it's some sort of pest that will be killed off by the cold?), but are hoping you can help identify the issue so we can figure out if we need to do something to support the tree for next season, if the issue will resolve itself, or if the tree is a lost cause. The pictures here I took in June, and while it no longer has any webbing it's looking more scraggly now than it did then.

I would like to own a small bit of farmland so I can provide for my Delaware community and work towards food security. Is this something the University of Delaware co-op extension program can help me with in any way? Does UD have resources or people who can help with this? I appreciate your time and understanding.

Nov 27, 2024. Temps in 40s day & 30s at night. Have a 2 gallon or so containered Kousa Dogwood tree, currently the container is sunk in ground, in a raised bed. It overwintered last yr that way, with a structure to the south blocking some wind. Is it too cold to plant at this time? The desired planting location would not be protected from wind over winter.

I planted Dutch Iris blubs in late October. Now in late November, following some warm days, the blubs have sprouted with some shoots as tall as 4 inches. Now with forecasted freezing temperatures for the next 6-7 days in the low to mid-twenties (F) I am concerned that the plants will be damaged. I have covered the bed with a tarp. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Nov 27, 2024 My peach tree is overgrown outward & upwards in some areas, semi dwarf. would like to prune a max of 4 .5-.75" branches, because easier to see now with no leaves. Did do a 1/3 pruning earlier in the year. Can I do now with no harm or should I wait til spring? Also leaves in fall for last 2 yrs have wilted, is that a concern? This tree grew back after about 5 yrs, from the roots of a 35+ yr old smaller peach tree that was taken out by a neighbor's fallen tree limb, so I have no idea of the variety. Very prolific fruiting.
