I have read numerous comments online about 'curing' sweet potatoes. I unearthed our crop about three weeks ago, and they've been in two big bowls sitting out on our screened porch, getting indirect sun whenever it shines in on them, but largely staying shaded. Also, of course, temperatures have been mainly in the 40s and 50s. Some places I have read that a steady temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit is best for curing, and some places say it is OK to keep them in a dark, dry place at a temperature between 40 and 60 F. So that difference in suggested temperature range is confusing in itself. I have an outdoor shed - without electricity - where I can store the potatoes a while, as well as a basement than also can be dark, but where some electrical (e.g., warming lights) can be arranged for however long might be suggested. By any chance might the time they have spent on the porch already be equivalent to 'curing' them at all?
Thanks.
