Hello,
at
I'm looking for a university, non-profit, or business that helps a new grower wanting to sell tomato seed properly heat treat the seed. Or, at least provide an overview of how to heat treat tomato seeds to kill diseases without compromising seed viability.
I've imported a number of varieties of tangerine tomato seeds for their tetra-cis-lycopene content, mostly from New Zealand, since these are largely unavailable in the U.S. My hope is to make these seeds available to home growers, for their cancer fighting and preventing nature.
My local state extension agent (Monroe Co., IN) could give me no information, even though Indiana is a top tomato producer in the state for processed tomatoes. I'm having a difficult time finding the information a small grower would need to make disease free organic tomato seed available to the public that I can be as confident as possible, is disease free. I'd really appreciate any information you can provide or direct me to.
Thank you,
Jami
