I have had poor luck in the past with Daphne. I have tried growing Daphne odora 'Aureomarginata', but it seems to either succumb to our warm, humid night temperatures or it dies in the colder winter. I've given up on it. I am considering purchasing a Daphne 'Perfume Princess' (a cultivar of Daphne bhoula, I believe).
Can you tell me if Daphne bhoula is a plant that is more adapted to our area? I would consider a native shrub, but I would prefer a flowering evergreen.
Your thoughts would be most appreciated.
