I have a lilac bush that is about 3-4 years old. It did not bloom last year and only one bloom the year before (When we planted it). It has been doing quite well producing foliage over the last 2 years. First question is what type of plant food shall I use this spring to produce flowers and when should it be applied.
The second question is I have read that the cicadas this year will be very harmful or fatal to young trees and shrubs. Is there anything I can do to protect the lilac bush from them including covering it with mosquito netting.?
