Hi, some local kids created a fort in a way that injured the bark and sub-bark layer of three mature pine trees. The wound size is maybe half a square foot?
Will this kill the trees? Is there anything we can do to support them?

Expert Response
Typically this won't kill the tree. Let nature take its course after your remove the wooden structure.
You don't want to apply any spray or sealant. the tree will bleed sap through the summer, but it will eventually seal itself. The wound will heal.
Hope this is some reassurance.
