what is going on with my lawn #892799

This picture was taken last fall. The dirt mounds started showing up and spread all over the yard. Can you tell me what it is and how to fix it?

I suspect that these holes are either due to the activity of skunks/raccoons or to night crawlers. Possibly, both may be involved. There is nothing for you to do now. Wait until mid-May to see if there is a recurrence of these holes. If so, please get back to us and we can revisit the issue.

Your turf is NOT damaged by these holes. As thing green up in May, these holes should slowly grow over. If night crawlers are involved, there really is no way to prevent them from continually doing this. If skunk or raccoons are involved, they were probably looking for grubs in the turf. If this is the case and you see further evidence of this in May, it may be useful to treat your yard for the elimination of grubs.
