Want to see how to grow plains cottonwoods from seed #892786

Asked February 18, 2025, 3:13 PM EST

I am a volunteer and need to grow hundreds of plains cottonwood seeds to maturity. I hope I can come and see how it is done at your greenhouse at Colorado State University. I have tried for 2 years and have been unsuccessful. Hope you can help. I have general references that have not helped, so I hope I can find someone who can show me how it it done. thanks

Expert Response

Hello Brian,

Thank you for your inquiry. We tried to call you back last week after receiving your phone inquiry from campus. They redirected that to us at the Arapahoe County Extension office.

CSU Extension is different from the campus. We do not have anything to do with the arboretum or greenhouses on campus. You could try reaching out to Daniel Burcham on campus. He is now overseeing the arboretum after Dr. Klett's retirement. Daniel<personal data hidden>
