Hi Angie,

My apologies for the delay in getting back to you! I was on vacation and forgot to mark myself as away in our AskExtension system! OSU Extension has a variety of resources to help you learn more about plants, lawncare, and pest control. Our Master Gardener program is a great local program to learn more about horticulture topics in person, but unfortunately our class this year is already full. Registration for the 2026 class that will run from January to April 2026 will likely open in October. I recommend keeping an eye out for upcoming Master Gardener events and one-off classes that are free and open to the public by following Clatsop County Extension or the Clatsop County Master Gardener Association on our websites or social media. We usually offer a variety of free seasonal workshops starting in May.

There are also a lot of great free horticulture webinars happening throughout the year, which you can view on the calendar here.

Another excellent option to advance your learning is our paid online courses through Professional and Continuing Education (PACE). These courses vary in cost, duration, and content. You can view all our available courses here: Catalog of Courses and Certificates | OSU Continuing Education

Beyond all of these courses, OSU Extension also has a variety of publications on topics of interest that you can read at your own pace. You can find these by searching our Extension catalog. For example, we have a great publication on maintaining lawns west of the Cascades: Practical Lawn Care for Western Oregon | OSU Extension Service

Hope this helps. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any specific follow-up questions.

Best,

Shannon Rauter
