Pruning during a freeze - Ask Extension
Pear, apple, and cherry trees need pruned. Night time temps are around 25 and daytime 40. Should I wait until danger of any freezing temps are gone?

Wait a little bit longer and start pruning early to mid-February. Then, you don't have the risk of tender new growth getting nipped in a frost.
