It is difficult to see the details easily to determine exactly what it is. It looks like a type of beetle though. If you aren't seeing them in the pantry or food area, could it be coming in on any firewood you are bringing inside.

In terms of prevention, you can check any grain or flour and make sure it is sealed in storage containers. You can also check window frames and doors and see if any need to be resealed, in case the insects are coming in from outside.
