Apple tree pest control for home orchardist #891498

Asked January 11, 2025, 1:49 PM EST

I'm finding all the information on line a bit overwhelming. I did a search, but couldn't find any OSU Extension classes on the subject. Can you point me to either an in person or online class?

I’m not finding apple pest/disease classes either. Master gardeners have pruning workshops occasionally and videos are posted online (search terms like “Oregon extension fruit tree pruning” & choose videos to find some).
Our commonly suggested publication for home orchard pest & disease control is EC 631. Information on different pests is available from the Northwest Center for Alternatives to Pesticides. For example, here is the page for codling moth.
Workshops are offered at times by the county Master Gardener associations. I find out about these on the organization websites and/or their Facebook pages. Here is the Multnomah group, and you’ll find similar pages for Clackamas and Washington counties.
I hope these resources help you.
