Lesser celandine treatment #891484

Asked January 10, 2025, 8:43 PM EST

Hello, my backyard has had Lesser celandine for years. Each year the amount grows in size. Last year, at it's peak, it covered the entire backyard. I understand digging out is optimal, but I believe it is too late for this. I understand herbicides may be used before flowering (February?) I have never applied herbicides before. I saw the 4countycwma.orf website recommends "For any herbicide applications we urge you to work with a licensed herbicide applicator". Do you have recommendations on a good approach, or a recommended contractor that I might pursue? Thanks!

Dear Ben,

Thank you for contacting us about the Lesser Celandine in your yard. As a matter of policy, we do not recommend specific  products or businesses. However, this page may be helpful:

Since you have an extensive area to be treated, you might also contact the East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District (EMSWCD) to see if they have additional information about control at this page:

I hope this information is useful. Please write again anytime you have a question.
