Thank you for your question about fig trees, Maria.  The link to backyard orchards that I sent you in the previous answer also lists the three fig varieties which grow successfully in the Willamette Valley.  If planted in the correct environment, figs need far less attention than pears, since they are resistant to diseases and insect infestations.  Hope yours grow well!
