Gol Dang Fruit Flies #890912

How do I keep fruit flies off my house plants, out of the house? (never had it this bad) Thanks Deb. Have always used Apple Cider Vinegar but their not going for it this time.

These are more likely fungus gnats, which closely resemble fruit flies.  They are attracted to wet soil, so keep the soil in your containers somewhat dry. They don't usually damage the plants.  You can try yellow sticky traps to collect the adult gnats or apply insect control to the soil to kill gnat eggs.  For more information, see https://extension.umn.edu/news/houseplant-pests
