I recently purchased some land with lots of fruit trees and bushes. As I raked up fallen apples, I noticed lots of large white patches under leaves. What is this, and do I need to do anything about it?

The first picture might be a type of slime mold, a fungus that affects turf and not apples. I'm not certain if the 2nd one is a fungus. It looks more like a piece of material.
Regardless, if you are noticing these spots on the ground and not on the apple tree, you have nothing to worry about. Turf is susceptible to several types of disease, which would not impact the fruit trees. The greatest impact is cosmetic to the grass.
