Hibiscus Rose winter care #890804

This summer it wad so radiant, as of lately look terrible--not sure if I was supposed to do some sort of winter care? Not sure if disease, pest, or? Please help--thank you and Happy Holidays!

Hi and thank you for your picture of your hibiscus rose. Unfortunately, this is a tropical variety which does not like temperatures below freezing and we had a string of very cold nights a bit ago. The plant looks like it froze out. It may recover if it did not kill the roots, so at this time you can mostly wait and see what happens.

If it puts out new growth in the spring, it will probably make it, but you will want to cover it with a sheet or blanket whenever we have freezing temperatures.

If you don't see new growth by June, you can pick out a new plant that might be more hardy with cold temperatures!
