my plant is not looking happy #890761

Asked December 12, 2024, 9:32 PM EST

I've had this for many years but now it's getting brown on the ends and generally looking not healthy. Can you tell me what it needs? repotting? or? It's about 38 inches high in an 11 inch pot. Thanks!

Dry air typical of Minnesota winter indoor conditions often cause Norfolk island pine branches to turn brown.  Anything you can do to increase humidity near the plant will help.  The following publications explain how to care for this plant.

Thx much. It’s been in this pot for some time, at least three years l. Lots of narrow trunks. Would you recommend I report into something larger?

It might help to do that.  The experts say repotting isn't needed very often, but going up to a pot one inch larger is recommended when new growth is minimal.  Spring is the best time to repot.
