Hi,
If you'll only be spraying at your location of business, you'll want the private applicator's license. If you'll be going off site and spraying on land that is either public space or privately-owned by others, you'll want the commercial license and then one of the core classifications that applies to the most relevant crops. For nursery this is typically 3b Ornamental E2291.

The 2014 edition of the manual is currently the most up-to-date manual. We are actually in the process of updating the manual and a new version is set to be released in 2025-26. If you are doing the commercial license you'll want to pick up the commercial core addendum and the core category manual you need. Check with the Ottawa County Extension Office, they should have copies available (I just looked and Kent did not, sorry!).
