Expert Response
We've referenced that Rutgers list ourselves before, and consider it a decent resource for Maryland gardeners as well. Deer are unique, and some individuals, depending on their taste tolerances or hunger level (or perhaps level of inexperience as they learn what they can eat or not), will eat things they are not supposed to like, so just take deer-resistant lists with a grain of salt. We do have a shorter list that focuses on native plants that might be useful: Deer Resistant Native Plants (see linked page). And although it's an older publication with species included that we would not recommend now (like Barberry and Nandina, which can be said for the Rutgers list also), the UMD publication Resistance of Ornamentals to Deer Damage might also be useful, though unfortunately it's old enough that it doesn't feature many native species.
