Desperate to get rid of clover mites! #890637

Asked December 09, 2024, 10:27 AM EST

Hello,  We are a local MN family that has been desperately trying to get rid of clover mites at two different houses for over a year now. We have tried everything and have even gone to the professionals (which don't seem to use miticide). We are now looking for help from local experts and honestly think we could make a good case study about how to get rid of them at the source permanently. From a desperate wife trying to get rid of this problem and driving her husband mad!

Expert Response

UMN Extension suggests clover mites seldom damage a house or humans. They may seek indoors this time of year. You can treat the foundation with a residual pesticide such as permethrin, bifenthrin, or cyfluthrin. When using a pesticide always follow the instructions on the container.

Ah shoot we have tried all of that and don’t have a solution. They seem to be impossible to destruct. Our neighbors say they have no signs of them too.

Sorry to hear that that hasn't been successful for you. I have no further information or advice.
