Burning bush issue #890075
Asked November 20, 2024, 10:15 AM EST
The Burning bushes on the north and south sides of the lawn are doing well. The east and west sides of the lawn dried up and hardly any leaves turned red—the leaves curled and dried up well before the normal end of the season. The leaves have black spots on them. When asked if they were watered well all summer the individual said yes. Can you identify what the issue might be.

Expert Response
This may be due to overwatering, poor air circulation and stress.. The dried leaves are likely the result of a fungal disease, such as leaf spot or anthracnose. The black spots on the leaves, curling, and drying are characteristic symptoms of these fungal infections. For information on anthracnose, see https://pddc.wisc.edu/2015/06/30/anthracnose/
