Cutting back calla lilies #889961

Asked November 17, 2024, 5:22 PM EST

I was surprised how much my tall calla lilies spread after just a year in the ground. How should I be thinking about cutting them back? Thank you

Expert Response

If you decide to dig them up, look for and take out all the roots. However, in doing this in my garden, and I was sure I had all the roots, they did reappear the next year.

All parts of the plant are considered toxic. Pets and children should not touch them or be near cut flowers.
