You should read the directions on the herbicide you want to use, for temperature information. If the plants still have leaves, you might still be able to spray, but it is getting rather late. Cold temperatures do make a difference in the effectiveness of herbicides.
You'll want to make sure there is a sufficient dry spell not to wash it off. That could be very difficult this week!
