Canning onions #889614

Hello. I have a question regarding canning onions. I am trying to can French onion soup. I know ball had a recipe but when I look at NCHFP their recommendation seems to be for pearl onions 1 inch or less not chopped onions. I am wanting to can caramelized onions with beef stock, perhaps with some beef as well. Based on the current recommendations is this safe?
